What happens at my first appointment?

During your initial session, your therapist will conduct a thorough assessment, including a detailed history of your injury, medication list, past treatments, and medical history. Following this, they will perform an objective assessment, examining your movement and conducting relevant tests.

Will I need a referral from my doctor?

While a doctor’s referral is typically not necessary for physical therapy services, some insurance providers may require it for coverage. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to determine if a referral is needed.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments varies based on your condition and individual needs. Following a comprehensive assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss the treatment plan and the expected number of sessions required.

What conditions do you treat?

At Speed Physio, we provide treatment for a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports-related injuries, chronic pain, and neurological disorders.

How long does a typical physical therapy session last?

Our initial assessment session lasts 45 minutes, during which the therapist will assess your condition and develop a personalized treatment plan. Subsequent follow-up sessions are each 30 minutes, during which the therapist provides treatment, assesses progress, and updates the treatment plan accordingly.

What do I need to bring?

For your first session, please bring a list of any medications you are taking and any relevant test results. Additionally, be prepared for a partial undressing to allow for a full assessment and treatment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We recommend wearing clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. Clients with leg issues are advised to wear shorts, while sports bras may be challenging for therapists to work around. Vests with flexible straps are suggested.

Do I need a physiotherapist or sports therapist?

All our therapists are qualified to a minimum of degree level and specialize in musculoskeletal conditions. Physiotherapists can assist with all musculoskeletal conditions, not just sports injuries. If you have any inquiries before booking, please feel free to contact us.

How do I cancel an appointment?

To cancel or reschedule an appointment, you can either contact our receptionist or use the cancellation option in your booking confirmation email. Please ensure you provide sufficient notice for cancellations.
